So you’ve started going to the gym!
Great call, {{contact.first_name}}.
We know that it can feel like a lot – so we’d like to share some tips to help you build momentum and keep it.
Let’s start on the topic of confidence.
First of all, it is natural to feel anxiety and intimidation.
But remember this:
Every single person around you has been you at one point in their life – we all start somewhere.
Be proud that you’ve shown up at all.
Now, let’s get into the specifics:
Start slow, build your routine gradually – walk, jog, then run, when it feels good.
If you approach the point of perspiration, you know you’re doing something right, so embrace it.
Once you’re comfortable with cardio, balance your aerobic exercise with strength training – but, again, take it slow, work yourself up to 2 days per week and…
Don’t skip leg day! ;)
While you’re adjusting to life at the gym, it is important to understand that there will be learning curves:
Weights may seem daunting and the variety of available machines will be unfamiliar.
So, don’t be afraid to enlist the help of staff and your fellow gym-goers, who are certain to lend a hand should you require it.
Working out is a long term process:
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither are perfect pecs.
But with a splash of confidence, a willingness to learn, and an openness to support, you will find your balance.
Happy pumping, and don’t hesitate to reach out to us at any time :)
