Whether you are getting ready for those summer beach days, or dealing with the consequences of wintertime hibernation – you may be considering ways to slim down and trim some unwanted fat.
While the best option is always a good diet and exercise, there are a variety of alternative ways to improve and speed up the process.
That brings us to one of the marvels of today’s modern medicine: something known as Non-Surgical Body Contouring.
Otherwise known as non-surgical fat reduction, this procedure eliminates fat cells to reduce or remove pockets of fat without surgery in various areas of the body.
NSBC differs from surgical liposuction in that non-surgical body contouring does not require long recovery times, anesthesia, incisions, or stitches.
These procedures aren’t intended to be solutions for weight loss – as the name suggests, we are destroying fat cells in order to contour the body to our liking.
Some of the different types of non surgical body contouring include low level laser therapy, laser lipolysis, radiofrequency, and ultrasound.
Let’s dig deeper into some of these techniques, and see if any of them are right for you.
First, we have low level laser therapy.
This procedure involves emitting a cold laser energy into the body tissues that are absorbed by fat cells – these are the tissues that are broken down and absorbed into your body.
The use of cool-laser tech forces fat cells to expel lipids back into your body.
Once this fat is outside the cells, it is absorbed and ultimately removed through your natural cycle of waste management.
Although it sounds slightly intense, we can assure you that it's not – the device never touches your skin, and you feel no discomfort.
As long as you are willing to maintain a strict diet before and after the procedure, you can feel confident that this procedure will be a breeze!
Next, we have Cryolipolysis.
This type of nonsurgical body contouring utilizes controlled cooling to kill the cells within your fatty tissue.
Your body recognizes that the cells are dead, but there is no grieving here – it immediatly absorbs and begins the same elimination process as mentioned before.
Certain spots of fat on the body can be particularly difficult to eliminate through exercise alone, these are the spots where Cryolipolysis really comes in handy.
Some patients report slight pain from the process, but nothing serious. The process should take only 35 - 60 minutes, and is the most popular of all the nonsurgical body contouring techniques.
And there you have it!
