One minute, you’re alert and attentive.
Next, you’re in dreamland and have no idea what’s going on.
Sound familiar?
We’ve all been there.
The wandering mind is so common that many of us don’t even realize when it’s happening.
We get so caught up in our worries about the past and the future that we forget to stay grounded in the present.
The result?
We disengage from the moment and miss out on what’s going on around us.
This is where mindfulness practice comes to our rescue.
Mindfulness involves focusing our attention on what we’re currently experiencing without judgment.
Practicing mindfulness enables us to explore our natural curiosity about the inner workings of our minds, and approach new experiences gently and kindly.
And when we’re mindful, we’re present, insightful, aware, and attentive.
So how can we make our everyday moments more mindful?
The first step is to start noticing what our bodies are doing and feeling.
We recommend trying out meditation or a physical practice like Yoga.
By practicing mindfulness, we can dial in our thinking and learn to be present in the now, immune from distraction!
