Internship Program: From College to AI and Entrepreneurship: Inside HighLevel’s Intern Program
Most people building an agency start by learning the software. This group started by learning the objection. When five HighLevel interns began knocking on doors across Dallas this summer, they found that local business owners were not resistant to automation. They were resistant to the word "AI." The fix was not a better demo. It was a better conversation, one that led with the result and left the technology out of the pitch entirely.
The cohort brings a mix of backgrounds and starting points: Michael Geary (Trinity University), Valentina CastroRedondo (UT Austin), Sachien Ravi (UT Dallas), Mohammed Khan (Dallas College) and Becker Ibrahim (University of Houston). Sachien has run his own agency since he was 15. Mohammed had never worked in marketing before the program began. Their results include:
Selected from roughly 900 applicants into a paid program that includes free HighLevel Pro plan access, meaning zero software overhead while building
Multiple interns signed their first paying clients within the first month, several closed face to face rather than over the phone
Live client work spanning restaurants, dental offices, consultants and small consulting firms
In this Spotlight Session, the cohort breaks down:
Humanize the outcome, not the tool. Business owners want more clients, better retention and more services to sell. Nobody buys "voice AI." They buy not answering the phone at 9pm.
Get in the room. The interns who closed fastest met prospects in person first. A face to face conversation changes the reception of every follow-up call after it.
Choose the niche, then set the price. Valentina niched down to consultants, researched what those clients earn per engagement and priced accordingly. As she put it, you cannot charge a consulting firm the same rate you charge the guy cleaning pools.
Their story reinforces one thing: the barrier is almost never the tooling. It is the decision to start before you feel ready, then keep showing up. Or as one intern put it, success does not happen overnight but commitment does.
