How to create Meta Custom Audiences using HighLevel Smart Lists
Getting started with Smart List audiences inside HighLevel Ad Manager takes just a few steps.
1️⃣ Open HighLevel Ad Manager
Inside your HighLevel sub-account, navigate to Marketing > Ad Manager.
If you haven't activated Ad Manager yet, follow the prompts to get started.
Make sure your Meta ad account is connected before creating audiences.
2️⃣ Navigate to HighLevel Ad Manager audiences
Inside Ad Manager, open Settings and select Audiences.
You'll see your existing Meta Custom Audiences, along with options to create new ones.
Click Create New Audience and select Custom Audience.
3️⃣ Create a Custom Audience from your CRM Smart List
Select Customer List as your audience source and click Continue.
Instead of uploading a customer file, choose Use Smart List.
Select one or more existing Smart Lists from your HighLevel CRM.
You'll see the selected lists and their associated contact counts.
4️⃣ Enable dynamic Smart List audience updates
Under Advanced Conditions, choose whether your audience should update automatically when your Smart Lists change.
You have two options:
✅ No: Include only contacts currently in the selected Smart Lists.
✅ Yes: Enable dynamic updates to keep your Custom Audience synchronized with changes to your Smart Lists.
For ongoing campaigns, dynamic updates can help keep your targeting current without repeated manual uploads.
Give your audience a name and click Create Audience.
5️⃣ Create a Meta Lookalike Audience in HighLevel
Want to reach new people who resemble your existing customers or engaged contacts?
Click Create New Audience again and select Lookalike Audience.
Choose the Custom Audience you just created as your source, enter a name and select your geographic location.
Next, choose your audience similarity percentage.
A 1% Lookalike Audience generally focuses on people most similar to your source audience within the selected location. Increasing the percentage broadens the potential reach while reducing similarity.
Click Create Audience to finish.

Once your audiences are available, you can select them when configuring eligible Meta advertising campaigns.
