What are HighLevel smart tags?
Smart tags are customizable labels you can apply to opportunities inside your pipeline. Unlike traditional tags, these aren’t manually added - they’re rule-based, meaning they automatically apply based on conditions you define (like value, status or creation date). That means less clicking and more automating.
How to set up smart tags in HighLevel
Creating a smart tag is simple:
Go to your Pipelines section
Click Edit on the pipeline you want to update
Navigate to the Smart Tags tab
Choose from pre-built tags or create a new one
When creating your own:
1️⃣ Add a label and description
2️⃣ Choose a color
3️⃣ Define where the tag applies (single or all pipelines)
4️⃣ Set your rules (e.g., “Opportunity Value > $500”)
Once saved, HighLevel will automatically apply the tag to matching opportunities.
How to manage and display smart tags
After setting up your smart tags:
Go back to your Opportunities view
If you don’t see the tags, click Manage Fields
Search for “Smart Tags” and check the box
Hit Apply
You’ll now see smart tags displayed on each qualifying card in your pipeline.
